The Federated Church of Sycamore...

is the result of members of two local congregations joining together, the First Congregational (1840) and the First Universalist Society (1853) to form a new congregation in 1927. In many ways Federated is a community church..

Members of many denominations find it a place where diversity of belief does not hinder unity of purpose. Today the church is affiliated with The United Church of Christ and the Unitarian-Universalist Association.

The mission of Federated Church is clear and simple: to provide inspiration, encouragement and opportunity for people to unite in Christian worship, fellowship and service, and to learn, to teach, and to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, individually and collectively in the community and in the world to the end that the love of God and the love on one's fellow man may increase.

As the result of our motto, "Federated Church Faces the Future," our congregation has a renewed spirit recognizing that our diverse membership shares a bond of both love and responsibility to work together to fulfill our mission. To that end, the members are involved in many local, national and world mission projects and welcome the use of our church facilities by the community.
